DDV-2500 manages, secures disk-based archive systems

Library Automation Technologies has released a Universal Version of its “Dynamic Disk Vault” (DDV-2500), an automated retrieval secure optical media storage vault that secures and manage access to any data stored in Compact Disk form factor, which includes CDs, DVDs, Blu-Ray, and HD-DVD media formats.

DDV-2500 storage capacity can range from 14.5 Terabytes for dual-sided DVDs to over 75 Terabytes for Blu-Ray media. In addition to on-line and near-line data access, the device provides secure vaulting and controlled dispensing of optical media. “Only properly authorized personnel are allowed access to secured media. All transactions are recorded. Various history/frequency usage reports are immediately available to auditors and management,” says Oleg Boyarsky – President and CEO of LAT.

Organizations that wish to utilize vast capacity available via DDV-2500 for data storage may opt for configuration that includes up to 6 embedded Read/Write Optical Drives.
