Lake Placid Olympic Training Center to host second Dartfish Technology Workshop

by Andrew Lippe

In association with the United States Olympic Committee, Dartfish Video Software Solutions will provide elite and detailed training of their video analysis software from the Lake Placid Olympic Training Center in

Lake Placid,

NY,

NY,

NY from
March 23-25, 2007. Due to the positive feedback they received from their previous event in September they have expanded the workshop

to include many

US Olympic coaches and athletes.

This is a networking event that is open to all Dartfish and non Dartfish users, Victor Bergonzoli, President of Dartfish

USA. Whether used by an individual or broadcaster, it is the same technology.

In their last workshop they had a diverse range of attendees from high school coaches to even navy seals.
Dartfish right now has over 40,000 users worldwide. They have hundreds of clients that include professional sports leagues, high school coaches and numerous Division 1 and Division 2 college coaches.

We also have 90 percent of the Olympic teams in the

United States, said Bergonzoli. Dartfish recently won an Emmy award for their work on the Olympic Games with NBC. The Dartfish software needs a laptop to operate and needs the capabilities of connecting a camera onto it. The software consists of two main aspects skill analysis, and game analysis. The software ranges from $1000 to $4000 dollars for one unit. The fair price makes this software accessible for high schools.

Our solutions are below that $100,000 range, therefore Dartfish can be useful to High school sports, said Bergonzoli. The Dartfish software is also appealing for its easy to use tools. Dartfish provides great technology, and is format agnostic.

We basically cover all the needs of an athletic department team or individual coach with the software, said Bergonzoli. Clients in tennis, golf, physical therapy, and weight lifting are more inclined to use skill analysis. Clients in lacrosse, soccer, and basketball are more inclined to use game analysis.

The workshop will allow coaches to share their experiences with the software regardless of their sport they represent. They also do outside training sessions at customer locations.
