Dalet Digital Media Systems has Super Sunday

Dalet Digital Media Systems, an independent software vendor and a leading provider of media asset management and digital production tools, today announced that CBS Sports has implemented DaletPlus Newswire to manage scripts and rundowns for their widely popular sports programs including NFL Today, College Football, College Basketball, and to cover big events such as Super Bowl XLI and March Madness.

“DaletPlus Newswire was deployed easily and quickly with virtually no disruption to our operation,” comments Grace Mayoral, CBS Sports. “The addition of Dalet has simplified the production process enabling us to better manage our fast breaking sport programs.”

“A key benefit here is the ability to add the Dalet solution to the existing environment, helping improve the workflow without restructuring the operation,” explains Mr. Benjamin Desbois, General Manager of Dalet Digital Media Systems US. “The open approach of Dalet enables our customers to move to a file-based workflow with a more open environment one step at a time – incorporating the latest technological advancements whilst integrating with existing third party systems.”

Installed in November 2006, the Dalet newsroom computer system was up and running within two weeks. The advanced rundown management includes comprehensive control over teleprompters and automatic live updates; effortlessly handling on the fly modifications, including to the on air script.

When on the road covering events such as Super Bowl XLI in Miami, the Dalet application enables CBS Sports to work remotely on the WAN as well as quickly synchronize all their remote systems and the main server in New York. Keeping all the systems “in sync” offers the crew both backup security and streamlined production process for teams in the facility and on site at stadiums.
