NEP Screenworks Continues Winning Streak with Third Consecutive Pollstar Video Company Of the Year Award

After earning designations as 2004 and 2005 Video Company of the Year by Pollstar magazine, NEP Broadcasting s Screenworks was recently awarded the 2006 title from the concert industry s leading trade publication in recognition of its excellence as a world designer/provider of mobile and modular LED video screens and projectors within the live touring industry and modular LED video screens and projectors within the live touring and sports circuit.

NEP Screenworks prides itself on providing its entertainment clientele with exceptional video and screen systems services, as well as first-rate event design and consultation, says NEP Screenworks President
Tom McCracken.

Established in 1990 by President
Tom McCracken and Vice President Danny O Bryen, and acquired by NEP in 2002, Screenworks has become the leading video screen and systems supplier within the live entertainment industry. Since embarking on its first concert project, Madonna s Blonde Ambition Tour, the company has delivered video screen reinforcement for hundreds of concert tours headlined by such top artists as The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Genesis, Barbara Streisand, Kenny Chesney, Shakira, and Ricky Martin along with entertainment shows World Wrestling Entertainment and Ringling Bros. Circus. It has also provided screens and cameras for premier sporting events including the Olympic Games, FIFA World Cup Soccer, NASCAR and the National Hot Rod Association.

Throughout their more than 17 years servicing the touring and sporting industry, McCracken and O Bryen have witnessed a growing need for video screens and systems. McCracken explains, Video screens have evolved as a necessary tool for fan enhancement and means of connection between the audience and performer allowing everyone to see the show and participate in the concert experience regardless of where they are in proximity to the stage. The technology is now used to visually enhance artistic and stage presentation with screens being built into the set.

Serving several different artist tours at a given time, NEP Screenworks works with individual concert set designers and production managers to accommodate each show s unique set composition and determine what appropriate screens and screen sizes are necessary for best capturing the concert s set design and theme.

Having mastered the art of video screen production for live concerts through its multi-million dollar state-of-the-art inventory, McCracken s Emmy award winning 30 years in the broadcast market coupled with O Bryen s 35 years in the live entertainment industry has also proven a unique recipe for catering to today s televised concerts. McCracken says, Designing and setting up screens for broadcast concerts requires a delicate approach. Screens must be color-corrected to ensure images and colors are properly transmitted to viewers at home, but this must be done in a way that does not compromise the screen levels needed for capturing the concert experience for those in attendance.

Vice President Danny O Bryen says, With a colorful 2007 line-up that has kicked off with the current Justin Timberlake Tour and the upcoming Police world tour, NEP Screenworks will create larger than life experiences for a number of other premier concert headliners such as Billy Joel, Jimmy Buffett and Eric Clapton. It will also return its services for Shakira s World tour, The Rolling Stones European tour, and the Kenny Chesney Summer tour.

In addition to being a three-time award recipient as Pollstar s Video Company of the Year, Screenworks is also a four-time winner of Projection, Lights and Staging News magazine s Parnelli Video Company of the Year award.
