Former Sabres Goaltender Joins TSN for NHL Playoffs

TSN today
announced the addition of NHL goaltender Martin Biron to its broadcast team for
the
Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Biron, whose Philadelphia Flyers were eliminated from the post-season, will
join the NHL on TSN panel as a studio analyst from April 14 to 16. This
marks Biron’s broadcasting debut.

The
addition comes on the heels of TSN’s recent announcement that 18-year NHL
veteran Jeremy Roenick is joining TSN’s coverage of the playoffs as a studio
analyst.

TSN
announced yesterday its coverage of the First Round of the
Stanley Cup Playoffs, which begins
with an opening night doubleheader on April 11. TSN’s coverage features
28 scheduled games in the First Round, 18 of which will air in High Definition
on TSN HD. TSN will televise four entire series: Buffalo/NY Islanders,

Atlanta/New York Rangers,
Anaheim/Minnesota and Nashville/San Jose. TSN has coverage of the first
three rounds of the
Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Biron will
join the NHL on TSN studio team with host James Duthie, Hockey Insiders Bob
McKenzie and Darren Dreger, hockey expert Dave Hodge, and analysts Darren Pang,
Jeremy Roenick and Tie Domi. TSN will once again use two broadcast crews
for the playoffs with Gord Miller/Pierre McGuire and Chris Cuthbert/Glenn
Healy.

Biron –
currently in his ninth NHL season – was selected in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft by
the Buffalo Sabres in the first round, 16th overall. Biron had spent his
entire NHL career in
Buffalo before being traded
to

Philadelphia
this past February on trade deadline day.
