Morpheus control, monitoring extended to Vistek range

Pro-Bel is unveiling the latest version of its emerging enterprise-wide management application at NAB 2007 – Morpheus Control and Monitoring (MCM). MCM is being continuously developed to provide an over-arching command-and-control capability across the entire content production and delivery infrastructure.

MCM has now been extended to interface to Pro-Bel’s Vistek product line – its comprehensive range of modular products including signal processing, conversion and signal test technologies. This compliments the existing suite of Pro-Bel router and master control management tools that are available within MCM as well as the introduction of status feedback from Morpheus automation in the MCM environment.

“MCM is constantly evolving and includes drivers for third party devices. This is being demonstrated with control of a VGA switcher, as well as control of Pro-Bel routing and Vistek signal processing, at NAB 2007. MCM is very important for Pro-Bel and for the industry as a whole as it brings an integrated approach to control and monitoring in what are increasingly networked environments. The latest version of the designer allows users to fully customize their own displays and create control sets that are abstracted from the physical hardware and signal flow,” explains Adrian Scott, CMO, Pro-Bel.

In addition, Pro-Bel has further extended the capabilities of two key products in the Vistek range. Cifer, the company’s groundbreaking standards converter, now provides full bi-directional conversion at HD 1080i and 720p combined with up/down format conversion and is capable of supporting 1080/23.98 psf. Cifer also uses the unique ASP-mc (Advanced Sub-Pixel Motion Compensation) technology to guarantee breathtaking picture quality.

Meanwhile VALID8, the company’s SD/HD ‘off air’ test signal generator and lipsync analysis tool, now includes a new feature using compact flash memory to allow a user instant recall of up to 64 separate sets of audio and video idents.
