MLS video portal powered by Gotuit

Major League Soccer has renewed its contract for the 2007 season with Gotuit to power QuickKicks – their broadband video portal on the MLS website (www.mlsnet.com/quickkicks). Originally launched last season, MLS fans use QuickKicks, powered by Gotuit, to easily search, navigate, and enjoy all the 2007 game video with instant access to the game highlights, goals, saves, best runs, and their favorite player’s plays.

“We received an extremely positive response from our fans last season from the QuickKicks video portal powered by Gotuit,” said MLS President Mark Abbott. “Fans loved being able to quickly get to the game video or highlight that they were most interested in, and now they expect this kind of personalized video experience. We were the first major sports league to offer this and are pleased to be able to provide it again for 2007.”

MLS offers this broadband video portal free to all visitors, supported by periodic video advertising from major advertisers. By utilizing Gotuit, and its proprietary video search and navigation technology, MLS delivers a superior video experience with a mix of pre-roll and mid-roll advertising. Video from each televised game will be available to viewers shortly after each game is completed.

Key features of QuickKicks, powered by Gotuit, include:

Each televised game video is available and viewable online through a variety of video playlists including Game Highlights, Goals, Saves, Best Runs, Set Pieces, and specific player highlights from two players on each team.
Deep search and navigation capabilities across and within the entire video library; searches can be conducted while the existing video plays on, allowing viewers to queue up the next segment and jump into any video they want at anytime, without delay.
Virtually no latency as the viewer chooses new video to watch
Ability for viewers to save their favorite segments to their own personal video channel
New for 2007 is the Embedded Player so fans can take their favorite plays and embed them on their own blogs and web pages.
“We are extremely pleased that Major League Soccer has renewed their relationship with Gotuit for the 2007 season,” said Mark Pascarella, CEO of Gotuit Media. “This validates the superior viewing experience that the patented Gotuit solution can deliver and we look forward to helping MLS continue to grow their audience and monetize their content. With David Beckham joining the league this year interest will be at an all-time high, and QuickKicks will help the audience get right to all of his highlights, as well as all the rest of the league action.”
