Seven Brewers among All-Star voting leaders 100,000 Votes Cast Already

The
Milwaukee Brewers and New York Mets are the only National League teams with at
least seven players listed among the leaders in the first announced voting
totals for this year’s All-Star squad. Vote totals were announced by Major League Baseball.

Infielders
Prince Fielder (1B) and J.J. Hardy (SS) both rank second at their positions,
while Rickie Weeks (2B) and Johnny Estrada (3B) rank third. Bill Hall, Geoff
Jenkins and Corey Hart all rank in the top 15 among outfielders.

Last
season, just one player on the team finished in the top 10 at their position in
final voting for the All-Star Game.

The team
has mounted a “Vote Brewers!” campaign to spur the effort, and fans
who vote are eligible to win unique prizes. More than 100,000 votes have been
cast by Brewers fans at the Miller Park All-Star Polling District at the
ballpark’s Home Plate Gate. Anyone voting 10 or more times through games of
June 19 will be eligible for a prize drawing at each game. Winners will receive
items such as authentic game-used jerseys and autographed memorabilia.

Those
voting at brewers.com who select Brewers as their “favorite” or
“other favorite” team will be automatically entered into another
prize drawing. One Grand Prize winner will receive two tickets to a Brewers
game along with an opportunity to watch batting practice on the field and meet
one of the Brewers 2007 All-Star nominees. In addition, ten (10) First Prize
winners will receive two game tickets.

In-stadium
balloting will run through June 19 at

Miller
Park
while voting via brewers.com will continue through June 28. The next round of
results will be announced on Monday, June 4.
