Warwickshire County Cricket Club Chooses Daktronics

Spectators
at Warwickshire County Cricket Club matches have an even better experience
awaiting them at the County Ground Edgbaston due to a recent installation of a
full-color light emitting diode (LED) video board. The video display was
designed and manufactured by Daktronics Inc.

“The fantastic image and flexible control system have greatly impressed
me,” said Phil Macdonald, Operations and Development Director of
Warwickshire CCC. “This has been a giant leap forward in our ability to
communicate with our spectators.”

This installation is part of a three stage development at Edgbaston. This is a
major test site where international and county cricket matches are played.

“Working with Warwickshire on this has been an incredible experience, one
which I hope will continue long into the future,” said Mike Charles, of
Daktronics International Sales. “The LED display will bring an experience
to the Warwickshire club that their spectators will remember for some
time.”

ProStar
LED video display technology captures the crowd’s attention with the
capabilities to show vivid graphics and colorful animation. Warwickshire’s
display measures approximately 5.5 meters high by 6.3 meters wide, with
full-color pixels on 23 millimeter spacing. The display uses red, green and blue
(RGB) LED technology to present images and information with wide angle
visibility. When not entertaining fans, the display can show scores and
recognize sponsors.

Electronic Display Services Ltd. (EDS) installed the display in a timely and
efficient manner. EDS is located in

Northern Ireland and has an
experienced workforce with a unique knowledge of the electronic sign industry.
They work hard in developing relationships with customers and continuing that
relationship into the future. EDS has completed multiple installations in many
countries throughout the world.
