Glowpoint’s
video conferencing technology is now providing ESPN with remote feeds from analysts like John Kruk and Peter Gammons in HD.

“There are
currently six remotes in HD,” said Dan Boland, Glowpoint senior director,
broadcasting services.
“Baseball Tonight is enabled with four at home analysts
in high definition.” During the
Baseball Tonight broadcast the studio crew in

Bristol, will conference
in one of the expert analysts. The analysts include former pitcher John Kruk, former
San Francisco Giants and Chicago Cubs manager Dusty Baker, baseball guru Peter
Gammons, and Buster Olney.

“Analysts used
to have to wait around in the studio, now studios are outfitted inside the
guy’s home,” says Boland. The remote feed and studio feed for
Baseball Tonight
are both in HD. Glowpoint will also provide HD remote feeds for NFL analyst
John Clayton. Next up for Glowpoint and two way HD is NASCAR and Richard
Childress Racing.

Glowpoint
technology will also be prevalent at this year’s NBA Draft in

New York on June 28. “We will be providing
a full turn key service,” says Boland. This will be the fourth year in a row
Glowpoint technology will be used to conference in players, coaches and general
managers during the draft. Glowpoint will receive on screen credit during the
Draft’s broadcast.
