Chyron Delivers High Speed Graphics for 2007 NASCAR on TNT Summer Series

Chyron Corporation
has announced that Turner Sports, a division of Turner Broadcasting System and
Time Warner, has upgraded 13 of its HyperX, high-performance graphics and playout
systems to include HD and Lyric PRO advanced creation software for its 2007 NASCAR
on TNT Summer Series.

Eight of
the systems are based in TNT’s Network Operations Group and five provide
sophisticated graphics from Turner Studios. A sixth HyperX HD/SD switchable
system for the Studios was purchased in May. The HyperXs will provide
sophisticated graphics for the six NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series races on TNT, which
are currently being broadcast in HD across the

US.

The NASCAR
on TNT races, which began on June 10th 2007 with the Pocono 500, will reach a
climax on July 15th with the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series race from

Chicago. Graphics
produced by the HyperX systems for each of these races will be an assortment of
lower thirds and full screens including trivia questions, player and team
comparisons, game summaries, historical stats, leader boards, scoreboards and
promos.

“We chose
Chyron because the company provides the best system to meet all of our
requirements and we have a long and successful relationship. The HyperX
maintains the fast editing functionality of a standard character generator with
the added features of a full 3D rendering computer,” commented Tom Sahara,
senior director of IT and Remote Services, Turner Sports.

Kevin
Prince, Chyron’s Chief Operating Officer added, “We are delighted that TNT has
upgraded the HyperX for this fast paced, adrenalin fuelled season of NASCAR.
This further highlights the system’s strengths in meeting challenging
requirements in demanding, live sports environments.”
