LightViper Hits Homers At NCAA Men’s College World Series
Story Highlights
FiberPlex, Inc., the professional audio fiber optic supplier to the sound production and systems contracting industry, has announced that their LightViper audio transport system was recently deployed for the live ESPN TV broadcast at the recent NCAA Men’s College World Series in
Omaha,
Nebraska.
The “plug n’ play” LightViper fiber optic audio systems were deployed by CP Communications, Inc, an Elmsford, NY-based production communications equipment and services rental firm that provides video, audio and fiber communications systems to the broadcast, theatrical, live event, film, corporate and other entertainment industries.
Kurt Heitmann, CP Communication’s VP of Marketing, commented on his firm’s first use of the LightViper:
“We used the LightViper system up in the ESPN announce booth for the first time at the College World Series and the client absolutely loved the way it performed. The system was set up next to the audio sub-mix in the announce booth. All the announcer’s mics as well as the effects mic sub-mixer outputs were run through the LightViper system. In addition to those signals, we also used the system for all the ‘courtesy feeds’ and the on-air program returns to the announce booth.
The system went up very quickly and continued to stay up n’ running for two weeks straight without so much as one hiccup. We were all very impressed with the system. We’ll be recommending it to all our live production clients without any question.”
