Pappas Telecasting Companies Switches to Harris Corporation OSi-Traffic Broadcast Solution

California, Pappas owns 27 television stations and operates four others with network affiliations including FOX, The CW, ABC, CBS, and MyNetworkTV, plus several Spanish independent stations branded as “TuVisi n.”

Pappas will switch from a competitor’s traffic system to the Harris feature-rich OSi-Traffic solution to centralize the broadcast advertising traffic and accounting operations for most of its stations at the company’s new

Fresno technical operations center. Switching to an industry-leading, next-generation advertising traffic platform provides Pappas a competitive edge to manage its stations more efficiently and maximize resources.

For example, OSi-Traffic provides broadcasters with the unique ability to seamlessly integrate with Harris-supplied broadcast automation solutions as well as those of third-party companies a capability Pappas considered critical for its station group going forward. Another feature that appealed to Pappas is the ability of OSi-Traffic to support a centralized traffic structure across an entire TV station group with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.

This is accomplished by leveraging the power of a relational database that coordinates the demands of multiple stations, with multiple channels, operating in a consolidated environment. OSi-Traffic also enjoys a successful track record of customer service that is highly customer-centric, which was a key point in the sale to Pappas Telecasting.
