Bexel adds Ikegami HDK-79EC HD Camera System to inventory

Bexel
Broadcast Services, a nationwide broadcast-equipment rental company, has
entered into a cooperative marketing agreement with Ikegami centered on the
addition of Ikegami’s revolutionary HDK-79EC HD Native Multi-format CMOS Camera
System into Bexel’s rental inventory. Bexel will bring this new HD camera
technology to its top broadcast customers, live-event producers, and mobile
truck companies as part of its continued investment in HD broadcast equipment.
The HDK-79EC HD Native Multi-format CMOS Camera System will be available for
rent through Bexel’s ten-location national network.

The
addition of Ikegami HDK-79EC HD cameras to Bexel’s national rental inventory
will enable Bexel to provide its customers with the latest in HD broadcast
camera technologies, both as stand-alone rentals as well as packaged into
proprietary systems that will support world-class events. The agreement also
calls for several cooperative marketing and operational initiatives that will begin to roll out now that the
market announcement has been made.

“We
are excited about this opportunity to have Ikegami’s latest CMOS HD camera
systems in our rental fleet, which will allow us to provide the latest in HD
camera technologies to all of our customers worldwide,” states Bexel General
Manager Tom Dickinson.

“Bexel
is a highly respected, leading force in the broadcast equipment rentals
industry, and Ikegami is pleased that its revolutionary HDK-79EC HD Camera
System has been added to Bexel’s inventory,” explains Ikegami Director of
Sales and Marketing Teri A. Zastrow. “This product’s leading-edge CMOS
sensor technology advances the state of the art in end-to-end digital, multi-format HD acquisition as never before.
The HDK-79EC provides superior performance that addresses the rapidly expanding
demand for all types of HD program production in a variety of formats throughout
the television industry.”

An
historic addition to the Ikegami product line, the HDK-79EC employs three
2/3-inch 2.5 Mega-pixel specified CMOS imaging sensors to achieve supreme
picture quality and multi-format HD performance. These 1920H x 1080V
active-pixel CMOS sensors are the first of their kind in the television
industry and are switchable between interlace and

progressive readout modes. Providing a full 16:9 aspect ratio, the HDK-79EC’s
CMOS sensors provide: 1080/60i, 1080/24p, and 720/60p. Also available are
optional 50Hz formats, 1080/50i and 720/50p, and high-speed dual-link 1080/60p,
and for Super Slow Motion, 720/120i.

Incorporating
Ikegami’s sophisticated Chip C4 ASIC video processing technology, the HDK-79EC
HD Native Multi-format CMOS Camera System can be configured as a portable unit
or as a studio camera (with full HD studio lens and nine-inch viewfinder) with
Ikegami’s SE-79D System Expander. Additional system components include the
CCU-790A full-digital camera control unit with built-in broadcast down-converter
and the CB-79HD/TA-79HD Triax Adaptor System.
