FFV Intros Xi Deck

Fast
Forward Video (FFV) has introduced its multi-use DVR, the Xi deck, at IBC. The
company said its intuitive controls and wide array of options are designed to
replace analogue tape decks in broadcast and film production applications.

The new Xi
deck provides broadcast-quality digital video in either single- or dual-channel
configurations, with a variety of features that can be custom ordered to meet
the demands of individual applications, including fixed or hot-swappable SATA
drives and serial digital interface (SDI) I/O. Other options include a video
LCD with adjustable viewing angle, component I/O, SMPTE/EBU time code and full
variable speed playback controls.

The Xi
also has an intuitive front panel touch screen that provides access to record
and playback settings including user selectable compression (from 4:1 to 20:1),
speed of play, and playlist management.

Scott
Keating, vice president of sales and marketing for FFV said, “The Xi
offers several new configurations with either single- or dual-channel
configurations and a wide range of functions and features, allowing users to
configure their recorders to meet their exact requirements.”

The new
recorder has retail prices ranging from $3,495 to $10,995, depending on
features ordered.
