Shotoku Presents a Full Array of Lightweight and Robust Camera Support Solutions at IBC

Shotoku Broadcast Systems, a manufacturer of both robotic and manual support equipment,
is presenting sensible solutions to accommodate a wide array of applications in
Stand 11.728 at IBC 2007. The Company is introducing a complement of lightweight
and robust pan and tilt heads ideally suited for facilities ranging from
Parliaments and legislatures to small, remote studios where space is especially precious.
In addition, Shotoku is debuting a multi-camera, cue computer control
system for robotic configurations, exhibiting additions to its Virtual Studio
camera support product range, and showing an extended line of lightweight
manual tripods.
TG-27
lightweight Robotic Pan and Tilt Head
Compact
yet powerful, Shotoku’s new TG-27 pan and tilt head belies its diminutive size
with a surprisingly high payload of 17Kgs (37.5lbs). The versatile little unit
is perfect for any remote camera application where small unobtrusive cameras
are required, such as Parliaments, Legislatures and Conference Centres, and may
be mounted upright or inverted. Customized support brackets are available to
facilities that wish to maintain the visual integrity of sensitive locations.
As with all Shotoku pan and tilt heads, the TG-27 offers exceptionally smooth and
accurate performance at all speeds and shooting angles. The pan and tilt head
is VR capable and compatible with all Shotoku control systems including the new
Orchestra Camera Management Systems.
Orchestra Camera Management System (CMS)
Orchestra, the latest generation Shotoku cue computer control system, provides
advanced capabilities for controlling large scale, multi-camera configurations
such as those found in Parliamentary and Legislative TV, Committee Rooms, and Conference
Centres. The fast and accurate camera management system operates with minimal
human intervention for the rapid acquisition of shots and automatic camera selection.
The full software solution integrates seamlessly with Shotoku control panels
and adds support for intuitive user interfaces such as data tablets and live
video touch screens.
Orchestra provides support for external triggering systems with additional control features such
as microphone interfaces. Several operating modes, manual,
semi-automatic, and fully automatic, enable operators to choose the level of
manual intervention desired in the shot acquisition and vision control process. The software comes in simple licensed
configurations to support any sized auditorium or legislative chamber.
Compatible with all Shotoku pan and tilt heads, Orchestra also has the ability
to control third party heads
VR Range
Expansion
Shotoku’s
highly successful range of Virtual Studio camera support systems expands with
the addition of the SH120VR lightweight head and TP-90VR full featured studio
pedestal. The TP90, aimed at mid-range payloads for camera, lens and prompter
configurations of up to 60Kgs (132lbs), provides exceptional manual performance
that has not been compromised by the addition of the VR sensing systems. The
precise mechanical coupling of sensors and equipment ensures very high levels of
accuracy and data consistency. As with all Shotoku VR sensing systems the
data protocol is compatible with all major VR system providers making Shotoku
the obvious choice for any virtual studio application.

products integrate with Shotoku Serial Position Interface (SPI) for a
convenient single cable connection to the VR system and a centralized
configuration and monitoring point. Sensor set-up and calibration is
extremely simple and can be completed in minimal time. Once configured, no
further intervention or external control device is
required.

Range of
Lightweight Manual Tripods and Pan and
Tilt Heads
Shotoku is
extending its popular manual pedestal and tripod range with the launch of the
SH range of lightweight DV and ENG camera support products. Constructed
with high rigidity aluminum, the 1, 2 and 3 stage tripods support payloads from
0 to 25Kg (55lbs.)
Smooth, perfectly
balanced, fluid damped pan and tilt heads for the ENG range make the perfect
combination for broadcast quality use. The systems’ ability to rig and
de-rig easily make rapid deployment in demanding situations uncomplicated, and
because they weigh as little as 2.9Kg (6 lbs.) the ENG tripods are extremely
easy to transport.
A full
range of accessories are available including pan bars, carry
cases, dollies and spreaders.
