AT&T Offers Fans Exclusive Handset Content to Celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Southeastern Conference

It’s that
time of year again: Fans can dust off those school colors and cheer for their
favorite college football team. AT&T Inc. has announced that, this year, SEC
fans can get in the spirit with an AT&T exclusive content portal dedicated
to the 75th anniversary of the conference. As the official telecommunications
sponsor and a presenting sponsor of SECSports.com, AT&T and the SEC have
partnered to create the ultimate handset destination for football fans.

“SEC
fans are some of the most passionate and loyal in the country,” said Steve
Sitton, regional president of the Southeast for AT&T’s wireless operations.
“We wanted to make exclusive content available at their fingertips and
give them the opportunity to get even closer to the action while celebrating 75
amazing years of college football.”

AT&T
subscribers can access the SEC Content Portal beginning Sept. 4 on their
handsets by texting “SEC” to 2-3-4-5-6-7. They will then receive a menu
of options to choose from, which includes alerts, trivia, SEC video, news,
downloads and sweepstakes. The centerpiece of the portal will be the Best of 75
Years of SEC Football, an 11-week program promoted on SECsports.com that allows
fans to vote for their favorite players, coaches and traditions from the past
75 years.

By opting
into the program, AT&T subscribers will be able to choose their favorite
SEC person or tradition from a new category each week. Was Herschel Walker the
best running back in SEC history? Is Steve Spurrier the greatest SEC football
coach of all time? Fans will get their say and, with each vote, be entered into
a chance to win a trip to

Atlanta
for the SEC Championship game. Voting started Sept. 4 and runs through Nov. 16
with results announced weekly.

But just
like any good playbook, the options don’t end there. Fans can prove their SEC
football IQ by opting in to play trivia or can get breaking news on their
favorite teams by signing up for alerts, which include game previews. AT&T
customers will also be able to show their school pride all season by
downloading school graphics, fight song ringtones, wallpaper, games and cool
tools, and subscribers with 3G service can access college football video.

This is
AT&T’s second year as the official telecommunications sponsor of the SEC
and a presenting sponsor of SECSports.com.
