Fighting
Irish fanatics will now be able access their favorite team on mobile devices.
MobiTV in a partnership with NBC Universal Digital Distribution will simulcast
full length Notre Dame Football home games beginning Saturday, September 22
when Notre Dame takes on

Michigan

State at 3:30PM.

“Devices
compatible with the NBC Sports Mobile channel will get Notre Dame Football,”
said Nicole Rodrigues of MobiTV. MobiTV has many compatible devices including those
from Sprint and AT&T.

NBC
telecasts are transcoded from mpeg to H264 and windows media formats for mobile
devices. “When a subscriber opens into his or her phone and requests the NBC
Sports Mobile channel, they are essentially getting a website,” Wolf Mack,
director of product management. “It is the same stream that is broadcasted on
NBC.”

launched live coverage of the 2007 U.S. Open Golf tee-off with Tiger Woods.
