AT&T Completes Multimillion-Dollar Technology Upgrade Of U.S. Olympic Training Centers

United
States Olympic Team sponsor AT&T Inc.
has announced the completion of technology
upgrades at the three U.S. Olympic Training Centers (OTCs), concluding a
multiphased, $3 million technology enhancement to the OTCs that will continue
to impact athlete training at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China, and
beyond.

The
technology upgrades for the OTCs in
Chula Vista,

Calif.,
Colorado Springs,

Colo., and now

Lake Placid,
N.Y.,
provide athletes, coaches, medical personnel and staff with access to
world-class communications technology as U.S. Olympic Team hopefuls train for
the 2008 Olympic Games.

The OTC
upgrades enable coaches and athletes to transfer video files quickly and easily
via AT&T wireless and wireline services in dorm rooms, gyms and practice
areas. The communications infrastructure also provides distance e-learning
capabilities for athletes pursuing academic degrees.

Additionally,
AT&T has built and equipped an

Athlete
Connections

Center at each OTC. These
centers provide a place for athletes to enjoy state-of-the-art AT&T
entertainment and communications services in a fun environment, which is an
important part of the rest-and-relaxation portion of their training programs.

The
AT&T Athlete Connections Centers feature Wi-Fi, wireless phone services,
AT&T | DISH Network service and AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet
service, which provides convenient, fast and reliable access to e-mail services
and online gaming.

“AT&T
is committed to doing its part to give

America’s athletes the tools they
need to be their very best,” said Jason Simpson, AT&T director of Olympic
Integration. “The technology that we provide at all three training centers
powers communications services that help keep our athletes connected to their
coaches, families and friends and enhance their training experience in a
meaningful way.”

AT&T
also provides the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) with products and services to
help ensure that its business needs are met, including:

A new,
high-bandwidth circuit that provides reliable connectivity for high-volume
traffic and increases the overall bandwidth of the USOC’s network for faster
flow of voice, data and video communications.

OneNet, an
integrated long distance, data and audio/video conferencing service that allows
Team

USA
and the USOC to quickly and easily call a meeting from virtually anywhere via
telephone, the Web or video.

Virtual
Private Network (VPN) Tunneling Service Remote Access, which provides the USOC
with the ability to access its network off-site over a secure connection,
anytime and anywhere (this is of particular importance for coaches and athletes
who travel extensively for various competitions).

Wireless
communications — including international coverage — for mobile phones, PDAs and
other devices.

AT&T
is an official partner of the U.S. Olympic Team and provides significant
financial support, products and services to

America’s athletes. AT&T will
serve as the official telecommunications services partner of the U.S. Olympic
Team for the 2008 Olympic Games in

Beijing.
