Audio-Technica ATH-M50 studio headphones chosen by leading producers and engineers

Since
their introduction, Audio-Technica’s ATH-M50 professional studio monitor headphones
have been embraced by leading engineers, producers and audio professionals who
require headphones that provide the highest level of sonic accuracy for
professional monitoring and mixing applications.

GRAMMY-winning producer/engineer George Massenburg’s credits read like a Who’s
Who of the record industry. Known for his work with artists such as Billy Joel,
Kenny Loggins, Journey, Madeleine Peyroux, James Taylor, Randy Newman, Lyle
Lovett, Aaron Neville, Little Feat, Bonnie Raitt, Michael Ruff, Toto, the Dixie
Chicks, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Linda Ronstadt, to name a few, Massenburg
recently commented on his use of the ATH-M50’s: “A-T has raised the bar once
again, this time with the new M50 headphones, and this time they’ve raised it
quite a bit. Already these phones are by far the favorite in our studio.”

Los Angeles’ legendary Capitol Studios has been the home for recordings from
artists that include Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, the Los Angeles Philharmonic,
Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, David Bowie, Bonnie Raitt, the Red Hot Chili
Peppers and more. Capitol Studio’s Chief Engineer, Tom Schlum, had this to say
about the ATH-M50’s: “The M50’s seem to be winning, hands-down. Everyone that’s
heard them won’t give them back.”

Recording engineer David Cole has worked with great artists such as Bob Seger,
Tina Turner, Melissa Etheridge, N*SYNC, Josh Groban, Roger McGuinn, Michael
Bolton, and many others. The ATH-M50’s have become his headphone of choice
after extensive evaluation of other professional headphones on the market. Cole
stated, “I’ve gotten used to [other industry-standard headphones]. After
A-B’ing them with the ATH-M50, I found much richer bass in the A-T phones, and
truer mids through highs…please convey my congrats to the technical staff on
these fine headphones. They are a welcome addition to my studio.”

Specifically intended for professional monitoring and mixing applications, the
ATH-M50 headphones feature an efficient collapsible design ideal for easy
portability and convenient storage. Employing Audio-Technica’s proprietary 45
mm large-aperture drivers with neodymium magnet systems and CCAW voice coils,
the ATH-M50 headphones have exceptional power handling and very high SPL
capabilities while delivering clear, natural, accurate sound with deep
resonating bass and high-frequency extension.

The ATH-M50 also features a closed-back cushioned earcup providing exceptional
clarity and superior isolation in high-volume listening situations. In
addition, the circumaural earpieces swivel a full 180 for easy one-ear
monitoring.

The ATH-M50 has a lightweight and adjustable cushioned headband for maximum
listening comfort. A coiled wire cable at the left earpiece terminates to a
gold-plated 1/8″ connector with included professional screw-on 1/4″
adapter. Audio-Technica is exhibiting at Booth #608 during the 123rd AES
Convention in
