Carmelo Anthony Launches Blog and at Yardbarker.com

Carmelo
Anthony, has launched his personal blog at Yardbarker.com, where he will share
his thoughts and interact directly with sports fans.

Anthony
joins an athlete blog community that includes NFL Pro Bowlers Donovan McNabb,
Ray Lewis, Bart Scott and Isaac Bruce, MLB All Star pitcher John Lackey, NBA
All Star Baron Davis and future NBA stars Greg Oden and Michael Conley, among
others.

“I
really like the community that Yardbarker has created because it gives athletes
an opportunity to connect with the fans like never before,” Anthony said.
“We all have interests beyond playing basketball and my blog will allow me
to share some of my experiences both on and off the court with everybody.
Nothing’s off the table.”

Anthony
took very little time establishing himself as one of the game’s top players. As
a freshman at

Syracuse
he averaged 22 points and 10 rebounds in leading the Orangemen to their first
ever NCAA title in 2003. He was the third pick in the NBA draft later that year
and immediately transformed the Denver Nuggets from league doormat to
contender. When he arrived the Nuggets were coming off of a league-worst 17-65
record and at the end of his rookie season Anthony had led

Denver to a 43-39 mark and a postseason
berth. In four NBA seasons, the
Brooklyn, NY
native has averaged 24.1 points per game, including a career-high 28.9 last
season.

“Carmelo
Anthony has been consistently ahead of the curve when it comes to connecting
with his fans,” Yardbarker co-founder Pete Vlastelica said. “He was
one of the first athletes to embrace MySpace, and now he’s blogging. We’re
honored that he chose Yardbarker as his blogging partner. Sports fans are going
to love this.”
