Rockets blast off with triple the HD coverage

FSN
Houston is significantly increasing the number of high-definition Houston
Rockets telecasts it produces in 2007-08. The regional sports network will
offer 34 regular-season Rockets games in high-definition, more than triple the
amount of last season’s 10 HD telecasts.

“We’re
giving Rockets fans what they’ve asked for by producing more games than ever
before in HD,” said FSN Houston Senior Vice President/General Manager Jon
Heidtke. “We’re committed to providing our viewers with the crystal clear
picture and eye-popping details that define an HD telecast. As more HD sets
come into the marketplace, our goal is to increase the number of games we show
in HD.”

The
majority of the team’s home games on FSN Houston will be available in
high-definition, beginning Tuesday, Nov. 6 when the Rockets host the defending
NBA champion San Antonio Spurs. Road games from
Miami
(Nov. 23), Los Angeles Clippers (Nov. 26),
Seattle
(Jan. 23), and

Minnesota
(Feb. 4) also will be produced in HD.

The games
will be shown on FSN HD, a high-definition channel available in

Houston on Comcast Cable
Channel 302 and DirecTV Channel 639-1. DirecTV HD customers will need an HD
receiver (H20, H21, HR20, or HR21), 5-LNB dish and a B-Band converter module (a
small, rectangular device that connects to the “Satellite In” port at
the back of the receiver) to access Channel 639-1. DirecTV also will carry
selected HD Rockets games in

Houston
on Channels 94 and 95 for customers with legacy equipment.

Currently
FSN Houston delivers over 165 HDTV events annually, showcasing the Rockets,
Astros, Big 12 and Pac-10 football, and Pac-10 and ACC basketball.
