Daktronics StatVision heads to MLB Winter Meetings

While Minnesota Twins ace Johan Santana will be all the rage during the 2007 Winter Baseball Meetings and Trade Show in Nashville next week Daktronics will display its StatVision software so even teams that don’t land Santana can walk away with something.

StatVision software (patent pending) is a program that recommends statistical content relevant to the current game situation, allowing scoreboard operators to quickly choose from a list of relevant statistics to display with the click of a button. The chosen statistical information is automatically formatted and immediately displayed, keeping fans informed and entertained.

The StatVision software was a hit for 11 major league teams during the 2007 season, including the St. Louis Cardinals. “StatVision was a great addition this season,” said Craig Wilson of Cardinals Productions. “We’ve always had access to a lot of great information for our display, but have never been able to take full advantage of all the stats content that was available. StatVision solved that problem and took the effort out of sifting through and displaying stats. StatVision made an immediate impact and quickly became a key part of our display system.”

Another of those teams was the Kansas City Royals. Ben Mertens, Coordinator of Game Entertainment for the Royals, liked the StatVision product for both the amount of information it makes available and the flexibility to deliver that information.

“Our operators love it because it simplifies their pre-game workload,” Mertens adds. “It gives them an extended line-up of relevant stats to present and allows for making content changes on the fly. In baseball, that makes StatVision an All-Star performer.”
