Omneon Designates Majortech as Master Systems Integrator for Canada

Omneon,
Inc., has named Toronto-based Majortech its master systems integrator for

Canada.
All sales of Omneon equipment to customers in

Canada will be directed through
Majortech, which will also provide service to other resellers and systems
integrators serving the area. In addition, Majortech will be responsible for spares
provisioning, as well as installation and technical support in

Canada on behalf
of Omneon.

One significant Canadian broadcaster that has already gained from the collaboration
of Majortech and Omneon is Global Television Networks, located in

Calgary. Global is the
third largest television broadcaster in
Canada,
with 16 English-language stations broadcasting to 94 percent of English-speaking
households in

Canada.
As part of a floor-to-ceiling upgrade overseen by Majortech, Omneon Spectrum media
servers are at the heart of Global’s broadcast system.

The Spectrum system’s open-architecture and modular design make it highly scalable,
ideal for a growing operation like Global’s. “One of the reasons the
system has worked so well for Global has been its ability to expand easily so
that we can continue to add components and storage without ever having to take
down the system,” Stelmakowich explained. “Global Television keeps
growing, and the Omneon Spectrum system grows with it.”
