Steve Stone set to join White Sox Radio Booth in 2008

As part of
Steve Stone’s ongoing partnership with WSCR Radio (670 AM), the Chicago White
Sox and the radio station announced that the former Cy Young Award winner
and current baseball radio analyst will team with White Sox play-by-play
announcer Ed Farmer and color commentator Chris Singleton during Friday home
games throughout the 2008 season.

“We are
thrilled about Steve Stone’s ongoing partnership with WSCR that allows him to
join the White Sox radio booth for a number of games in 2008,” said Brooks
Boyer, White Sox vice president and chief marketing officer. “His
knowledge of the game aligns perfectly with the mission of all White Sox
broadcasts – to teach the game and convey the excitement of the ballpark
experience to all White Sox fans.”

The
three-person broadcast team of Farmer, Singleton and Stone will be featured on
the team’s flagship radio station during 13 games at U.S. Cellular Field,
starting with the game vs. the Detroit Tigers on April 11.

“As one of
the best analysts in the game, Steve Stone brings tremendous baseball insight
and a magnetic personality that will only serve to enhance listeners’
experience of the game,” said Mitch Rosen, program director WSCR Radio. “We are
thrilled to have Steve with WSCR again in 2008.”

Along with
the game on April 11, Steve Stone will be present in the White Sox radio booth
for games against the Baltimore Orioles (April 25); Los Angeles Angels of
Anaheim (May 23); Minnesota Twins (June 6); Colorado Rockies (June 13); Chicago
Cubs (June 27); Oakland Athletics (July 4); Kansas City Royals (July 18);
Boston Red Sox (August 8); Tampa Bay Rays (August 22); Los Angeles Angels of
