FSN Names Steve Tello SVP and GM of FSN Houston

Steve Tello, a senior media executive with more than 30 years of experience
in television management, has been named to the newly created position of
Senior Vice President and General Manager, FSN Houston.

Tello will be responsible for all aspects of FSN Houston
’s
business, including programming, production, advertising sales, marketing, and
team relations. He will also be charged with managing the growth of the
network, which launched as a separately branded service in 2005. FSN Houston
showcases 130 Astros and 60 Rockets telecasts in addition to Houston Texans programming
and collegiate events from the Big 12 Conference,
University of Texas,
and Texas A&M.

’s sports teams, and they and their fans
will be served by a proven, energetic, passionate leader in Houston 24 hours a
day, 7 days a week,

President, Fox Sports Regional Networks.

management experience to this position. He also has been an innovative

Houston.

Tello joins FSN Houston after serving as general manager of FSN Pittsburgh
since 2004. Previously, he spent six years at Fox Sports Net in
Los Angeles, where he was
responsible for overseeing the creation and development of a variety of FSN
’s original national and local sports programming. Prior to
joining FSN, Tello was president of the broadcast and production units of Speer
Communications based in
Washington,
D.C. and
Nashville,
TN, which included WNAB-TV.
Previously, Tello enjoyed a distinguished career at ABC News, where he last
served as a senior producer for ABC News

World
News Tonight with Peter Jennings, coordinating special event coverage for
Europe,
Russia, and
South Africa.
Some of Tello
’s most prominent assignments included
the release of Nelson Mandela, interviews with Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein,
and the end of communism in the former Soviet Union and
Eastern
Europe.

A native of
Miami,
Florida,
Tello is a graduate of
Florida
International University
and was recently given the Distinguished Alumni Award for his continuing
contributions to the program. Tello has garnered a variety of honors throughout
his career, including seven Emmy Awards, multiple Associated Press TV Awards, and
a UPI Overseas Press Award. Tello has also served on many civic and community
service boards throughout his career.
