O21 Television lands British Touring Car Championship deal with ITV

ITV Sport award a three-year British Touring Car Championship contract to outside broadcast company O21 Television. The contract will see O21 Television supply Unit 6, the latest addition to its high definition fleet. The unit will operate as the Presentation unit for ITV Sport, supported by Unit 3 that produces the world feed.

Ewen Hamilton, O21’s Managing Director, says, “We are delighted to extend our relationship for a further three years and are confident that our new units, equipped with the latest broadcast technology, will capture all of the excitement of this long standing ITV Sport tournament.”

ITV’s Director of News and Sport, Mark Sharman says the British Touring Car Championship is a significant undertaking for ITV Sport. “I’m very pleased that we can rely on the expertise and resources of O21 Television as we expand our coverage of the event on ITV4,” he adds

The British Touring Car Championship season starts March 30 again at Brands Hatch. ITV4 will broadcast as much as five hours of coverage on Sunday afternoons throughout the season. O21 Television also provides ITV Sport with OB facilities for ITV Boxing, Champions League and the Championship.
