Employers to block NCAA March Madness video streams

The USA Today takes a look at the steps some employers will take to prevent employees from watching the CBS Sports streaming
coverage of the NCAA Tournament. Of course, they could win the battle
and lose the war as employees simply call in sick. Jeff Withers, branch
manager of Collins Electrical in Stockton, Calif.,
says he’ll use a tool called SmartFilter to block employees from the
online coverage. “It takes up too much bandwidth. It’s not something
they should be doing during work hours, anyway,” Withers says.
“Everybody’s got a TiVo. If they want to record the games, they can.”
