QuStream to showcase newest routers at InfoComm08

QuStream
will exhibit the latest additions to its range of audio/video routing,
router-control, interfacing and signal distribution systems on Booth N5552 at
InfoComm, Las Vegas
Convention Center, 18-20
June. The dominant
theme of QuStream’s InfoComm exhibit will be addition of 3 Gbit/s processing to
the entire Cheetah range of HD/SD-SDI routers, enabling broadcasters to embrace
the 1080p HD television standard as a mastering format in 59.9 and 60 Hz frame
rates. Cheetah’s ability to handle 3 Gbit/s adds the speed and processing power
to route practically any digital signal stream a video or film production
company, mobile crew, post-production house or broadcaster would ever need to
handle. It comes at a time when the television market is converging with
high-end digital film in a fusion which will greatly strengthen both sectors.

QuStream’s Cheetah V5 DVI-I transmission link enables long-distance delivery of
DVI-I video or VGA component video and stereo audio via a single optical fiber
or coaxial cable. It also allows DVI video to be routed via conventional
routing switcher technology over a secure optical fiber signal path. Versions
of the Cheetah V5-DVI are available as stand-alone modules or in a convenient 1
U rack-mount kit. The optical fiber model has a range of up to 6 miles (10 km)
in single mode. The fiber modules also provide inbuilt support for multimode cable
up to 1,200 ft (400 m). A looping output is provided on the transmission feed
for DVI or VGA local monitoring. Transmission data rate is 1.485 Gbit/s which
allows signals to pass through HD-SDI routers without additional processing.

QuStream will exhibit the latest additions to its Integrity 600 modular video
and audio processing and distribution system. Based on the FRM603 high-speed
chassis, Integrity 600 offers high component density and high-level redundancy.
Features include redundant power supply and optional redundant control plus
reference board for two power busses, two Ethernet busses and two reference
signals to every card in the system. Also two sets of fans with individual
tachometers for early warning of potential fan failure. The Integrity 600
FRM603 chassis accommodates up to 20 signal processing cards in addition to the
control/genlock boards, enabling higher density and reducing system cost. The
midplane is unique with 3 Gbit/s signal busses between two Star slots and all
other boards as well as between adjacent boards. The Star board slots permit
full-bandwidth system integration through CWDM fiber or other transmission
standards. All boards including video and audio DAs can receive or send signals
to other boards via the midplane. This makes the Integrity 600 exceptionally
powerful for processing, conversion and distribution.
QuStream’s MUX643 processes and reclocks 270 MHz to 3 Gbit/s inputs and can embed
four AES/Dolby E inputs. The MUX683 provides the same features plus the ability
to embed and process eight AES/Dolby E inputs. The DMX HD/SD de-embedder
processes and reclocks 270 MHz to 3 Gbit/s inputs, extracting and processing
four AES/Dolby E channels (DMX614) or eight AES/Dolby E channels (DMX618).

QuStream’s 3500PRO is a single board system controller which can be installed
inside most QuStream routing mainframes or supplied in a standalone single or
dual controller chassis. The 3500PRO series operates seamlessly with QuStream’s
full line of RCP type remote control panels and is compatible with all of
QuStream’s current PRC matrix frames. Features include up to 16 levels of
control, 32 components, 64 tieline interconnects, 128 salvoes, 1,200 source and
destination names, full on-line diagnostics, matrix breakup.segmentation and
virtual matrix mapping. Software control panel menus allow the user to set up
panel configuration information such as source/destination assignments,
addressing, and lock/protect. Each type of PRC panel has its own graphic panel
setup menu to select and identify button assignments. Each panel configuration
menu features four selection tabs for access listing, data key definitions and
salvo definitions.
