Orad TrackVision returns to RDS Canada for CFL

By Andrew Lippe
TrackVision, the virtual First Down Line, developed by Orad Hi-Tec
Systems Limited, makes its return to RDS Canada broadcasts this season.
TrackVision will be implemented on every Canadian Football League
broadcast on the network in 2008, and can be used from the OB trucks or
the control room.

“We have greatly reduced the time it takes to bring in the First Down
Line,” says Shaun Dail, Orad VP, sales and marketing, North America.
“RDS can also implement graphics within the red zone showing red zone
stats.”

Orad’s FDL system is easy to operate, and is HD/SD switchable, and
allows automatic calculation when displaying the down and distance
numbers. TrackVision requires only one operator and a three to five
minute set up. “TrackVision is based on image tracking, and requires no
camera modifications,” adds Dail.

“RDS can now have the look and feel of a U.S. football broadcast,” says Dail.
