SVG launches college video newsletter

The Sports Video Group today launched SVGU College Video Newsletter, a biweekly newsletter dedicated to meeting the information needs of college and university video professionals. “The college sports video market is more complicated than ever,” explains Ken Kerschbaumer, SVG editorial director. “The market is unique in its challenges, from coaches moving to HD, schools grappling with Internet-distributed video productions, or college stadiums and arenas installing new scoreboards and in-venue entertainment systems.”

Carolyn Braff, SVG managing editor, will head up day-to-day operations of the newsletter, using her experience as a reporter and editor at CSTV.com to bring greater knowledge to the industry. “Carolyn’s understanding of the college market and dedication to the segment will allow SVG members and sponsors to more easily grasp where the college video industry is headed,” says Kerschbaumer.

Each issue of the SVGU College Video Newsletter will feature profiles of schools and conferences, interviews with tech-savvy athletic directors, sports information directors, and video services coordinators, and the latest industry headlines.

“The launch of the SVG College Video Newsletter is only one of a series of steps SVG will take this summer to better serve colleges and universities,” says Marty Porter, SVG Executive Director. “With hundreds of schools and thousands of professionals on the hunt for information about technology trends we believe SVGU is an important addition to the industry.”
