Multidyne delivers for 2008 Beijing Torch Relay

MultiDyne Video & Fiber Optic Systems’ DVM-1000 video and audio fiber transport links were used to provide video coverage of the 2008 Beijing Torch Relay in Hong Kong on May 2 and in Macau on May 3, 2008. “We were very excited to be able to offer a practical fiber solution for coverage of the relay,” said Bob McAlpine, vice president of global sales & business development for MultiDyne. “This is another example of how MultiDyne is successfully providing fiber technology to the sports video industry.”

The DVM-1000 series is designed for applications that demand professional quality video, audio and data transmission over fiber. Applications include links from studio to transmitter (STL), studio to studio, studio to CATV head-end, common carrier, RBOC Telco circuits, distance learning, Intelligent Transportation Systems & back-haul feeds from special events. The series supports NTSC, PAL, SECAM , as well as video, with diplexed audio carriers at 4.5MHz, 5.8 MHz and 6.4 MHz. The design features differential video and audio inputs that greatly reduce hum and noise.
