Clear-Com Eclipse 5.0 at Infocomm 2008

Clear-Com
Communication Systems, a brand of The Vitec Group, introduces Version 5.0 of
its Eclipse Digital Matrix high-performance intercom system to the Pro AV and
contractor market at InfoComm 2008 (Booth C3583), taking intercom communication
solutions to the next level. Acting as a central switching unit for communications
across a facility, Eclipse Digital
Matrix Version 5.0 links Clear-Com’s V-Series panels with a CellCom
digital wireless system for cost-effective and universal access to
communication in large facilities with greater connectivity options.

A global provider of professional communication solutions for live
performance, broadcast, government and commercial markets, Clear-Com brings
increased connectivity and expandability to Version 5.0 through robust E1/T1
telecom connection, fiber linking with intelligent switchover and now AES
Digital Connectivity to V-Series panels for increased control of audio for
remote operation.

Working
in conjunction with an E-FIB card, fiber linking between Eclipse intercom
matrixes of the Median and Omega classes enables large, even multi-venue
productions to network their intercom systems together. Multiple Eclipse
systems may then act as one non-blocking matrix using redundant high-capacity
fiber, resulting in a large, high-quality, full-duplex communications system for
mobile production and studio integration.

“Having
been in the industry for 40 years, Clear-Com understands the communication
needs of the live performance and Pro AV markets,” says Matt Danilowicz,
Managing Director. “An effective intercom system needs to be accessible,
dependable and flexible to support the production workflow and communication
needs throughout a venue. With Version 5.0, we are advancing our technology to
broaden access whether in a theater application or across multiple venues where
production workers and crew need to be in contact with each other.”

The
system is also outfitted with features that place the controls at the users’
fingertips. Highly configurable and intuitive V-Series user panels,
including the new V-Series Desktop, can be added or removed as production needs
change. An AES-6-RJ interface card allows the user to control remote
V-Series panels through AES3 stereo digital audio routers and consoles where
the Eclipse intercom is required to talk over audio feeds, as often occurs in
busy live performance environments.

Eclipse
Configuration Software (ECS) provides a visual and intuitive user interface,
featuring graphical views of the V-Series panels. ECS has the ability to apply
or modify labels and control functions to each individual panel button in
real-time. Based on a stand alone or client/server concept, programming
is done from a PC through Ethernet LAN connections. Status and diagnostic
messages are available, allowing systems to be maintained remotely. An
AES-6-RJ interface card allows the user to control remote V-Series panels
through AES3 stereo digital audio routers and consoles where the Eclipse
intercom is required to talk over audio feeds, as often occurs in busy live
performance environments.
