English Twenty20 Cup Cricket Makes HD Leap Via CTV OB

The English Twenty20 Cup cricket season began this week and is being
shown exclusively live in high definition on Sky Sports. The
broadcaster’s regular cricket OB contractor, CTV Outside Broadcasts, is
providing facilities and coverage includes 18 matches, with “at least”
three quarter finals for the first time since Sky started covering the
tournament in 2003.

Also new for this year is sponsorship by
family-owned wine company Raisin Social, which markets the Namaqua
brand. The deal involves Sky playing idents and break bumper logos for
every match, including during play and in the interval and on the
highlights programme.

Sky’s cricket schedule for this year also
involves the rest of England’s One-Day Internationals, the
International Twenty20 match with New Zealand and the entire Test
series against South Africa, which begins on July 30.
