Inlet Technologies’ Andy Beach to Moderate Technology Today Podcast Series

Beach, director of product management, will moderate special episodes of the
ongoing podcast series, Technology Today, a production of Zoom in Online.
Technology Today chronicles the tools, toys and techniques pushing the
entertainment industry forward.

Beach’s first podcast aired July 9th and featured PBS Frontline iWitness host
and producer Joe Rubin. The pair discussed best practices for using
technologies such as web cameras and Skype to conduct interviews over the
Internet.

Beach served as an industry mentor in the recent Bay Area Video Coalition
Producer’s Institute for New Media Technologies, which promotes the development
of socially-relevant media projects for emerging digital platforms. Rubin was
one of the invited producers that Beach mentored on new media techniques and
technologies.

“The Institute was a great test bed for projects like iWitness to explore both
new distribution models as well as new production techniques,” said Beach. “My
aim in the podcast interview with Joe is to lay bare some of the more common
pitfalls that producers encounter when undertaking new media distribution and
also to demystify some of the more arcane technical details.”

Future podcast interviews for Zoom in Online will chronicle the experiences of
high-volume post production houses, visual effect artists, and traditional
broadcasters as they learn and adopt new techniques and technologies to keep up
with the increasing demand for a more engaging and interactive experience.
Previous guests featured on Technology Today include Guy Kawasaki, co-founder
of Apple Computers, Robert Scoble, and Bob Power. Episodes will be available on
Zoom in Online’s Web & Interactive channel and on iTunes.
