Gravity Media Group closes Gearhouse Broadcast’s “Box Rental” Business in North America

Gravity Media Group (GMG) has closed its North American “box rental” business, based out of Gearhouse Broadcast’s Burbank offices, effectively taking the company out of the short-term single item rental business.
The projects and production consultancy side of the business will continue trading as normal supplying multi camera solutions, fully supported by the group’s considerable resources in and around North America.
“We recognize that the U.S. market conditions for equipment specific rental are extremely tough currently and do not make an economic return in the current climate,” says Gravity Media Group CEO John Newton. “Accordingly, we have decided to withdraw from that part of the U.S. broadcast market.”
He adds that Gearhouse continues to exploit its strong global skill base in the Project Management and Flypack Solutions market by maintaining our focus on these aspects of the business within the U.S. Mark Genin, VP, will remain the principal point of contact for our clients in the U.S. market.
