GuangDong TV equips OB with Vinten

GuangDong
TV will utilize its
fleet of OB vans for its Olympic coverage. To ensure high quality programming from the diverse athletic venues, GuangDong has selected
Vision Pan and Tilt Heads and Tripod systems from Vinten, a Vitec Group
brand.

“We have built a reputation for providing high-tech television facilities for
our production teams to use,” said Zhang Yu, Section Director at GuangDong
TV. “The Olympics is an international showcase for Chinese broadcasters
and with the Vinten Vision systems we know we will get consistent performance
and total control from this OB
equipment. It is also easy to operate, and the Vision systems offer the
high capacity payloads that are necessary for using teleprompters.”

The Vision series is designed for demanding OB
environments, where total reliability and precise camera control are paramount.
Combining Vinten’s unique Perfect Balance counterbalance system with the latest
Thin Film (TF) drag mechanism, they deliver complete control and consistent
performance, even in the most difficult or fast moving broadcasting conditions.
Even the smallest Vision head, the Vinten Vision 100 system, supports camera
payloads of from 15 lbs to 44 lbs (7 kg to 20 kg).

The Vision series has set new standards in studio production and OB applications. With Vinten’s Perfect Balance and TF
drag systems, even the largest camera setups require little effort to operate,
regardless of the duration of the OB
broadcast.
