TV Magic and JVC to Cohost HD Production Seminar

Broadcast
systems integrator TV Magic and JVC are partnering to present a high-definition
(HD) production seminar featuring Jerry Cohen, a expert in camera
technology, colorimetry, and the HD production industry. The free JVC HD
seminar begins at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11, at TV Magic’s
San Diego facility. During the subsequent
luncheon period, guests will have the opportunity to take part in hands-on
demonstrations highlighting JVC’s revolutionary Pro HD GY-HD250U HD camera.
Over the
course of the JVC seminar, Cohen will address critical concepts including HD
signal formats, recording formats and compression schemes, and working with
interlaced and progressive video. In his presentation, Cohen will also explain
how to select recording media, configure an HD studio camera, choose the
correct HD lens, implement a seamless HD editing solution, and send an HD
signal via microwave.
Broadcast
Pix and Network Electronics are also participating in the HD seminar,
presenting at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. respectively, to discuss the role of video
production switchers and video transport equipment in facilitating a smart,
cost-effective HD workflow.
“With
the increasing trend towards HD, this seminar will be an excellent way for
individuals and companies to learn more about HD workflow and experience HD
technology firsthand from the experts,” said Stephen Milley, vice
president of sales and marketing for TV Magic. “We are pleased to be
cohosting this event with JVC and hope that everyone in attendance will come
away with a greater understanding of HD production.”
