Jayhawk Fans Score Touchdown with Integrated Wireless Program from AT&T

AT&T and the University of Kansas have launched an integrated wireless and texting program to keep Jayhawks fans further connected to their favorite KU sports teams whether they’re at the game or on the go.

Fans can now text Jayhawks to 72645 to receive text alerts with game-day reminders and the latest team statistics, updates, and news for Jayhawks football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, tennis, and several other sports. The alerts will also direct consumers to a Jayhawks-specific portal where they can find information and content from their favorite team.

During football season, fans can also text KU1, KU2 or KU3 to 72645 to vote for their favorite Jayhawk play of the game. The winning play will be announced through a bounce back message on the phone. Fans can vote by participating in the program and opting in to receive text alerts.

“This is a great opportunity for Jayhawk fans to get into the middle of the action and receive all the team news and information they could want,” said Jim Marchiony, KU associate athletics director, external relations. “This wireless program allows us to connect with our fans in new and unique ways – whether they’re in the stands or sitting at home in front of their big-screen TV.”

The University of Kansas is one of 22 collegiate athletics programs nationwide to participate in AT&T’s integrated wireless and texting program. It’s also one of the first wireless programs to enable collegiate sports teams to use texting to deliver in-game activities, news alerts, and content to wireless handsets.
