I-Movix has signed a deal for its ultra-slow-motion SprintCam Live V2 camera to be distributed in China, following its success during the Beijing Olympics. China Broadcast Technologies Ltd, known as ZhongGuangDian in its domestic market, has become the exclusive distributor for the product in China, Hong Kong, and Macao.
The Belgium-designed and -manufactured SprintCam Live was launched in 2007 and is beginning to move beyond its domestic borders, with an office in California as well as representation in Europe. It is distributed in the UK and Ireland by British EVS LMS specialist Editec.
The result of a collaboration involving Fujinon and Photron, the SprintCam Live is a real extreme live slo-mo camera, with frame-per-second rates of up to 8,000 and an instant-replay facility. It works in both SD and HD, offering both 720p and 1080i for the latter. Live televised sport is the primary use for the camera, but it is also seen as suitable for live entertainment, commercials, documentaries, feature films, and scientific research.
