ESPNU Rolls Out TMI

By Carolyn Braff
Beginning this week, ESPNU is offering college-football fans Too Much Information. During replays of telecasts, which air on ESPNU the week after their live broadcast on ABC, ESPN, or ESPN2, graphic messages called TMI — “Too Much Information” — will pop up throughout the course of the game.
A Quantel QEP editing system is used to upload the messages into the replay.
The pop-up graphics, designed to spice up the re-air content, display factoids related to the two teams playing, pop-culture tie-ins, and other interesting tidbits that will make the broadcast more appealing to college students the second time around.
