Montreal Canadiens Add Daktronics Scoreboard

Bell
Centre, home to the National Hockey League’s Montreal Canadiens, has recently
installed a new Daktronics display, installed in time for the Canadiens Centennial
year of hockey.
The centerhung display is highlighted by four large light LED video screens, each measuring approximately 30 feet wide by 17 feet high. Daktronics also incorporated corner video displays between each of the primary
video screens providing a crystal clear view for spectators in any seat
throughout the arena.
“With more than 500 square feet of high resolution video per face,
the four giant screens will give us all kinds of opportunities for our game-day
presentations, replays and sponsorships. That is on top of the upper
independent gondola that can be positioned separately and the bottom circular
video display. We have a very versatile system that will provide the Montreal
Canadiens hockey team with an infinite number of possibilities for the future,” says Alain Gauthier, Vice President of Operations for
Bell Centre.

The new centerhung replaces the existing display Daktronics installed in 2003.
Bell Centre also features two Daktronics 360 degree ribbon displays surrounding
the entire seating bowl.

“The Bell Centre management inspired us to find the very best centerhung
arrangement that could possibly fit their building. To choose four giant
screens that could be split in multiple smaller video sections was the right
choice, and will provide the Bell Centre an incredible tool for entertaining
their crowd,” said Jean-Louis Legault, President of Daktronics Canada. “Once
again, we have been challenged by the Bell Centre and the Canadiens
organization, and we are proud of this new achievement with them. Once again,
they are a front runner in terms of video technology and fan entertainment.”
