University of Maine Adds LED Displays to Alfond Arena

At the University of Maine, fans will watch replays of upcoming ice hockey and basketball action with the debut of a new video and
scoring system in Alfond Arena. The Maine Savings Black Bear Vision was
designed and manufactured by Daktronics.
“Black
Bear fans are really going to love this new addition to game day in Alfond
Arena,” said Maine athletic director Blake James. “Watching the replays, seeing
the fan cams and showing dynamic advertising by our corporate sponsors are just
some of the additions to the new video displays. This update in technology
ensures Alfond Arena will continue to be among the top venues in college
hockey.”
The
eight-sided centerhung, nearly 13 feet tall overall, includes LED video
displays on four sides, and scoring and timing displays on four sides.
