WNYW Taps Chyron HyperX2 for HD Graphics

WNYW New York, flagship of the Fox Television Stations Group, has
installed three Chyron HD/SD-switchable HyperX2 graphics systems
for use in its newly launched high-definition broadcast of live news
and events.

In addition, a Chyron CAMIO cluster, a fully redundant server system
that removes single points of failure from mission-critical news-graphics operations, will provide journalists and producers with an
easy-to-use interface to create, preview, and publish highly
sophisticated graphics for playback.

WNYW also installed Chyron’s WAPSTR multimedia messaging gateway. As a
plug-in to the CAMIO system, WAPSTR enables mobile-phone pictures and
videos to be uploaded directly from the field into a newsroom system.
“WNYW is one of the most innovative and respected broadcasters in the United States,” says Chyron COO Kevin Prince. “That they have chosen to further enhance their look, feel, and mobile-image–ingest capabilities with Chyron is something that is of demonstrable benefit to WNYW viewers in any resolution.”
