Anhanguera, one of the largest networks in Brazil,
continues to migrate its owned-and-operated as well as affiliated facilities to
full high-definition production with Grass

network is using Grass Valley HD cameras
and production switchers for a completely new HD studio.

The network’s main TV station is

studio will include five Grass Valley LDK 4000 HD cameras and two Kayak HD 3 M/E video production switchers. The new HD studio will begin producing a number

Anhanguera also is anticipating an investment to migrate its Palmas, Tocantins, facility to HD, where a Kayak HD 2 M/E will be

chose the Grass Valley cameras due to the excellent
video quality,” says
Leonel da Luz, technical director of TV Anhanguera.
“We looked at a lot of
the other vendors, but no one could provide us with the kind of value,
performance, and support that Grass
Valley did. This was an
important project for us, and Grass
Valley understood our
needs and always met them. We are very pleased with the results and plan to get
a lot of use out of the new studio.”

“Grass Valley
technology offers broadcasters like the TV Anhanguera high-quality production
values and a cost-effective migration strategy that can be easily deployed,” says Jeff Rosica, SVP of Thomson’s Grass Valley
division. “The latest installation builds on the strong
partnership that Grass
Valley has formed with
the TV Anhanguera and other TV Globo network stations, and we look forward to
continuing to support them throughout their transition to HD.”

Anhanguera operates 11 TV stations covering about 180 cities in central Brazil. The
stations are members of the Globo Television Network, which provides its
affiliates with national programming with time-slots available for them to air
