Utah Scientific Names U.S. Sales Managers

Utah Scientific has appointed Rob Shevlot regional sales manager for the central United States and eastern Canada and Troy Davis regional sales manager for the southeastern United States. Each will be responsible for expanding sales with new and existing customers and developing the dealer network in his respective region.

Shevlot joins Utah Scientific from da Vinci, where he served as VP of global sales. Previously, he was director of global sales for JDSU’s Digital Video IP Specialist Group and director of sales for Enseo, a leading provider of digital media engines for multichannel MPEG video playback. Shevlot was also director of sales for Vela, a manufacturer of broadcast-quality SD and HD MPEG video encoders and decoders. At Utah Scientific, he will manage sales for Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, and upstate New York, as well as five provinces in eastern Canada.

Davis has served with Utah Scientific for more than 15 years, and he moves into his new role after managing sales for the central U.S. He began his career in the broadcast industry more than 20 years ago as a technician for Utah Scientific, where he also served as inside sales engineer and product manager. After serving as regional sales manager for Frontline/Vela for five years, Davis returned to Utah Scientific in 2003 as central U.S. sales manager. He was named Utah’s salesperson of the year in 2004, 2006, and 2008. In his new position, Davis will cover North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee.

“Both Rob and Troy will be huge assets as we continue to serve and expand our growing customer bases in the southeast and central United States,” says Tom Harmon, president/CEO of Utah Scientific. “Rob brings a rich and varied background in broadcast media and a proven track record for building strategic relationships, expanding into new markets, and recruiting high-performance salespeople. Troy’s deep knowledge of our products and how they integrate into all types of video facilities — including broadcast, government, production, and postproduction — will give us a powerful presence in the Southeast.”
