AFC Championship Highest-Rated Telecast Among All Networks Of 2008/2009 Season

CBS Sports’ coverage of the 2009 AFC Championship Game featuring the Pittsburgh Steelers defeating the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Jan. 18 earned a fast-national average household rating/share of 22.0/34, making it the highest-rated telecast among all networks in the 2008-09 television season to date (9/22/08-1/18/09).

The AFC Championship was seen by an average of 40.64 million viewers (persons 2+), which is the most-watched telecast among all networks to date since last year’s Super Bowl programming, on Feb. 3, 2008.

The AFC Championship was also the highest-rated program season-to-date among adults 18-49 (14.7 rating), adults 25-54 (16.6 rating), males 18-49 (18.8 rating) and males 25-54 (21.2 rating).

The AFC Championship Game rating peaked at a 24.2/36, with an average 43.9 million viewers from 10:00-10:17 p.m. ET.
