Ross Helps Gallaudet University Move Towards HD

Gallaudet University first used Ross Vision in a full
studio production in October. The production is a biweekly
address/talk-show/information-sharing program hosted by Dr. Robert
Davilla, president of Gallaudet, a Washington-based university for the
deaf and hard-of-hearing.
The program is highly regarded, and, with a Vision 2 QMD
multi-definition digital production
switcher, the program is on its way towards higher-quality video with
HD video
production capacity.

“The Vision
2 QMD’s flexibility and power of its integrated systems was key in our decision
to go with Ross,” says Patrick Harris, senior video systems administrator/academic
technology. “It now stands as the centerpiece of a fully digital studio
production system living within a larger analog/digital hybrid facility.”

Gallaudet
has also installed various RossGear conversion and distribution equipment and
has purchased a CrossOver MD, Ross’s newest line of compact production
switchers. CrossOver will be installed in one of Gallaudet’s smaller facilities
on campus for academic courses and for student use.

“It’s a
great honor to have Gallaudet
University invest in Ross
technology,” says CEO David Ross. “Gallaudet has a reputation for outstanding
graduate programs for the deaf and hard-of hearing, and knowing that Ross will
be part of that is an amazing accomplishment.”
