Kennel Joines ARRI as CTO

Glenn Kennel is joining ARRI in the newly created position of Chief Technology Officer. Kennel will work from the Burbank office with responsibilities that include overseeing digital intermediate, digital camera technologies and supporting workflows.

“At a time when production and post are tied together in a continuous workflow and film and digital imaging are merging into a single process, Glenn brings to ARRI a wealth of experience in these critically important areas,” notes Volker Bahnemann, CEO of ARRI.

Kennel started his professional career at Eastman Kodak in 1980 and has held a wide range of important positions starting in the traditional chemical film processes and progressing through all phases of the digital intermediate and digital cinema development. He later served as Director of Technology and Business Development at Texas Instruments, DLP Cinema and most recently, Vice President/General Manager, Feature Film at LaserPacific.

Says Kennel, “ARRI is a leader in developing film and digital imaging tools for filmmakers. I am excited about the opportunity to help guide ARRI into the digital world. I have always been focused on utilizing digital technologies to complement and enhance the capabilities of film, and providing compatible tools that make sense to traditional filmmakers.”
