End of Analog Given Reprieve as House Okays Extending DTV Deadline
Story Highlights
The House voted 264-158 on Wednesday to delay until June 12 the date when television stations must broadcast in all-digital format, clearing the way for President Barack Obama’s signature. Without the bill, all TV stations are required to stop broadcasting their programs in analog format on Feb. 17. With the bill, the nation is given a few more months to ignore the transition.
